WHAT IS COACHING? | ||
|
The concept and profession of a Life and Business Coach has been borrowed from the world of sports. Watching the way a sports coach works, people understood that the principle of the interaction between a coach and the athlete (individually and in a team) is based on promoting and applying the hidden physical and mental potential he/she carries inside. Improving performance and achievements is accomplished not only through physical training, mental training is as important as the physical. A gold medal is won not only through heavy training but also because of the mental disposition, readiness to persist and focusing on the goal. Progress is in stages until the target that has been set is reached. Many of the approaches, attitudes and techniques applied in life and business coaching are derived from the methods used in sports.
The coach works with his client on the development of goals and objectives in any domain – personal and/or business – as requested by the client. Going through this process the client develops and enhances latent talents which so far, for one reason or another, he/she did not manage to develop and apply by him/her self.
We read it already in the Bible “It is not good that the man should be alone” (Gen. 2, 18) and we know now that the same way an athlete reaches his maximum potential and achievements with a coach so can each and everyone of us do, whether in the personal domain (relations with oneself, family, society, attitude to finances, etc.) or in business/professional life (team work, leadership, handling crises, sales, time management, planning and execution, etc). Everyone, can attain maximum results in an optimal time frame when accompanied by a coach and mentor.
Whether you are CEO or student, sales person or MLM network-builder, striving to lose weight or to better manage your time and money, this is the answer for you! Journey down a new road in your life to DISCOVER AND FULFILL YOUR REAL DREAMS AND ASPIRATIONS .

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COACH AND A COUNSELOR OR
ADVISOR?
The Difference At A Glance
|
Coaching |
Advising |
| Coaches use a process of powerful questioning that taps into the client's own "inner wisdom." They don't provide the answers for you or tell you what to do. | You request and receive answers and solutions from the consultant's perspective - their "wisdom." You are expected to follow their advice and are often left to motivate yourself to move forward. |
| Coaches accompany you as you implement your action plan. They remind you of any forgotten or ignored aspects of your plan, such as life/work balance and staying on track, and also of other choices you could make; they help you through obstacles, and generally, keep you focused and accountable. | Consultants deliver their report/action plan and their job is done. It is up to you to implement it, follow through and remain self-motivated. |
| A coach will help you do it YOUR way. | If you hire a consultant for their answers, the idea is that you do it THEIR way; after all, that's what you are paying them for. |
| A coach will assist you in achieving your goals, but looks at it from YOUR perspective and assists you in a way that is your way. Coaches care what is important to you, what resonates for you, what is comfortable for you, what brings you joy, what bores you, and so on... | When you ask a consultant for advice, you receive an answer based on their experience, their personal outlook and their view of your situation from their perspective. |
| A coach will change direction with you when you want/need to change it. Unless your "change" is a disastrous move, your coach will not "judge" or force you to do something different. | You do what the consultant says. There is no flexibility. A simple change of direction is a whole new ball game. |
| Coaches take a broader view of all issues affecting your career/life and incorporate strategies in a holistic sense. | Consultants are concerned only with the situation presented. Anything additional is not dealt with. |

Coaching is
actually a form of consulting, in that coaches assist you to solve
problems, attain goals, design action plans, and create the desired
results. However, unlike consultants, coaches help you move away from the
things that don't work in your life, toward things that are more in line
with who you really are and what you really want. Life transitions are
easier to navigate when worked through with a coach than by doing it on
your own. Typically, this type of assistance is not provided with
consulting.
